New We Are delighted to announce an annual prize to the best publications and achievements by Libyan doctors. A winner will be chosen every year and a sympolic prize from LDS members will be given to the winner.
Libyan News LDS group are looking for a host to host the 5th annual meeting of Libyan doctors society. It will be held on 14th November 2009. Please contact Dr Ashraf Kamour or Dr Younis Bazza about this subject via the LDS contact us link on this website. The 6th training the trainer course (TIPs) will be held in Tripoli between 26-27th July 2009. It is cooperation between Libyan Board of Medical Specialities and Academic centre for medical Education –University college of London.

A visit by Libyan doctors to Ali Omer Asker neuro spine centre will be held on 28-29th July 2009 as a part of Libyan doctor’s cooperation with Hospitals in Libya without any intermediary.
There was a visit organised by Libyan doctors to Ali Omer Asker neuro spine centre 23-24th May 2009 with cooperation of a doctors from Great Ormond street Hospital. Third paediatric epilepsy symposium was organised on day one as well as seeing patients, EMG workshop and OPD for paediatric patients with neurological problem. Visitors were Dr Nagi Barakat, Dr Matthew Pitt, and Dr Tarek Jallul. A team of Libyan doctors visited Gharrian teaching Hospital 24-25th May 2009. The team delegates are Dr Nagi Barakat, Dr Habib Darduri, Dr Jamal Abdulkarim and Dr Majid Ali. The two days was successful and various workshops, courses, clinics, procedures and laparoscopic surgery cases. The team invited to visit Gharrian Hospital again, Zawia hospital The LDS group will conduct two days symposium at Zliten Hospital with Dr Alttir. Dr N Barakat and Prof Nurredin Al-Shammaki will do 24/3/09 and Dr Hani Ben Amer 11/4/09 Dr Younis Bazza had a very successful visit to Gaza-February 2009 and he is busy organised another visit April 2009 The annual Libyan Doctors Society acheivment Award been given to Professor Mahdi Elkhammas The LDS memebrs sent their congratulation to Prof Mahdi Elkhammas for his excellent achievement in medicine as well as his endless support to Libyan and non-libyan colleagues The LDS meeting was attended by 16 members of Libyan and 5 non Libyan. The program was excllent and every one thank the two organisers Dr Ashraf kamour and Dr Younis Bazza for their effort and looking after all members.
