1) those with sponsership
the route for these doctors is simple and consist of contacting individual universities and apply to them (which is vary from one university to another)
all universities require a minimum English Language Skills and some experience in the field that you apply to study in.However,most universities are not so uptight about these conditions.and thats vary according to the university and the course you are doing
2)self funded doctors
for these the PLAB test is the main route by which International Medical Graduates (IMGs) demonstrate that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to practise medicine in the UK.
the route to gain the necessary Qualification is as follow
(a) you need satisfactory scores in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test.
These are the minimum scores you must achieve: Overall 7, Speaking 7, Listening 6, Academic reading 6, Academic writing 6.

after gaining this score you will be elegible to set the PLAB examination
(b) the PLAB examination consist of two parts:
Part 1
is a written paper consisting of extended matching questions (EMQs) and single best answer (SBA) questions. The paper contains 200 questions and may contain photographic material. It lasts three hours. The proportion of SBA questions may vary from examination to examination but no more than 30% of the paper is composed of SBA questions. You can have an unlimited number of attempts but you must pass Part 1 within two years of the date of your IELTS certificate.
Part 2
is an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). It takes the form of 14 clinical scenarios or ‘stations', a rest station and one or more pilot stations. Each station lasts five minutes. You must pass Part 2 within three years of passing Part 1. You can have four attempts at Part 2. If you fail at the fourth attempt you will have to retake IELTS (unless you are exempt) and both parts of the PLAB test.
you need to pass part 1 to be elegible to set part 2
generally speaking,it is very hard nowdays to get into the system in the UK with the change in the recruitment and training as well as the changes in the immigration rules.
this is apply not only for those who consider coming to UK but also to those who already practicing in UK
There is an overseas training schemes still applied to UK, you are legible to register if you have either full arab board, or full libyan board or full membership of any of colleges in UK. You need to clear the IELTS before applying to this schemes. Places are limited and find one Libyan consultant who are working in UK to sponsor you
Please also check with Libyan Board of Medical Specialities about the agreement between LBMS and some of the Royal Colleges in UK. Some of membership exams are held in Libya now.
